My top 3 places in the whole wide world (So far...)

I love to travel. “To travel is to live”. If this is so, then I want to live every single day of my life. I want to explore, embrace the adventure – see new things. Soak up the world. Breathe in new air. Taste new food. Feel the waves breaks over my toes from every different ocean. To experience the world.I have been lucky enough to have travelled to so many places. I feel blessed and I am so grateful for my itchy feet! My wanderlust is unquenchable. It is a question I always get asked when returning from a trip, Where is your favourite place? Where would you go back? The truth is as a traveller, I would go back to everywhere. I love all the experiences good and bad. But there is more of the world to see and my heart will not rest until I have seen it all. However there are a few places that have a special space in my heart.

Montmartre, Paris, France.

There is a small cafe at the bottom of the steps to the Sacre Coeur. I'm not sure what is is called. I would know it the second I saw it. The waiters wear long black aprons, crisp white shirts and shiny waistcoats. The tables are all lined up on the pavement, covered in pristine white linen. If your lucky, you can secure a prime spot, gazing up at the magnificent view. The wondrous coffee is expensive, but the view makes it worth every cent. The Montmartre steps, The Sacre Coeur, hawkers, pickpockets and tourists. A beautiful collision of the old and the new. A fight between natural beauty and touristic entertainment. Real life, mixed with the fake. I love the people spotting potential. I love the view in the day and at night. This is what Paris is to me. A coffee and a view. Paris was also one of the first places I travelled with a backpack. An overnight bus from London, and it was just like in the movies. Maybe this is one of the reasons its so special to me.I want to experience a left bank spring, paris in the Autumn and summer, along with a magical Parisian winter. Vive La France.230912_6419964491_2617_n

Buxton, England.

This place holds so many special memories.  “You can fall in love at first sight with a place as with a person.” - Alec Waugh.  I knew it was love at first sight. From your journey 'over the tops', through your descent into the town, you can feel the magic. If you haven't been, you must. This place will stay with you. From the beautiful Dome (the largest of it's kind in Europe), the gardens, to  the snow and the brightest blue skies. Buxton is unqiue. I fell in love here, I learnt here, I struggled here, I left here. And, I came back here.  For now it's home, and for always it will have a invisible holding.2015.01.18.11.04.50

The Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

I could imagine my life here. It's that simple. The beauty of a pure blue sky day and the breathtaking breaking surf. The simple joy of a sunny day and a trip to the beach. The friendly locals and the laid back epic everyday. I can still clearly see the route I walked to work, even waiting for the bus was beautiful. I used to look at sea as I did my job.  It was like a perfect English summers day - every day. You woke up to life and it felt like you were on holiday.  Each beach was more beautiful than the last. Each sunset more memorable. I could imagine my life here. Its that simple.DSCF2549
